Brave New Word, Bernard Marx What the hell?
Anybody else feel a bit…betrayed by the author? They present Bernard as the protagonist, allows for a decent amount of the book to emhasise on character development and all of sudden, he’s gone, never to be heard from again and then we’re stuck with John the Savage. I find it kinda retarded, spending so much of the book getting to know this character only for his to disappear from the book and essentially, be replaced by a new protagonist.
well I think it’s supposed to illustrate the dichotomy between the people living in that society and the “savages” who represent the more human parts of ourselves.
