russia marxism
Where is the meeting point for Communism(Marxism) and Anarchism?

I have heard that someone can believe in “Communist Anarchy” or “Anarcho-Communism”.
But where is the meeting ground where theres to mix.

Aren’t they about opposites. Ones for complete control of Govt, and ones completely against.

Or am I getting Marxism mixed up with totalitarian Russia(supposed Communism).
Anarchist communism advocates the abolition of the state, private property and capitalism in favor of common ownership of the means of production,[1][2] direct democracy and a horizontal network of voluntary associations, workers’ councils and/or a gift economy through which everyone will be free to satisfy their needs.

They are diametrically opposed.

The more socialist a nation the more control that is placed in the central government. Anarchy is the opposition of central control or control at all. Socialism requires large amounts of rules and regulations to attempt to function. Anarchism is the opposition of such rules and regulations.

The USSR was a socialist state based on Marx’s writings. No Marxist nation can exist without oppression as the resource allocation method is so resource intensive that little can be spared outside very focused goals and basic survival. This inherient ineffeciancy of Socialist systems of which Marxism is the father of requires uniformity among it’s populace as a direct result of it’s inefficiency in resource allocation and the concentrations of power placed in such a smaller group of people. Each resource monger becomes literally a king of their own domain in a socialist system. This in itself leads to inevitable corruption. The required uniformity and high levels of corruption that is normal for Socialist systems is exactly what you saw in the USSR, North Korea, China, Cuba, and the list goes on.

Doesn’t work. Volunteer is exactly the word used but everybody has to volunteer in a socialist society just to make bare functioning levels. Direct Democracy is a good idea, while it’s not diametrically opposed to Communisim it’s not exactly a compatable idea. The problem is Democracy is based on the people’s wants. Socialism is based on people’s most urgent needs. The two often conflict and resolution in a Socialist society is to reallocate resources to meet the need. In a Socialist system YOUR time and skill are your only commodities. Money is no longer a means. As such you allocate increasingly more time to increasingly less gain in such a system. While bartering of goods is possible, capitalism really isn’t in a true Socialist state. Too much of the capital necessary to make Capitalism work is tied up in the state itself and or reallocated to other “worthy” causes. Only external stimulus is able to break through this allocation cycle. Without the US no way the USSR reaches for space for example. Socialist systems are very introspective systems with little desire or interest in changing once a stable cycle is established. Capitalist systems are fueled by innovation and change. They re-invent themselves on a frequent basis. Thus the conflict.

China is a great example, they had to move away from Socialist principles to establish a free market economy. They took controls off, dramatically decreased reallocation of resources while keeping a very tight reign on social causes. This converted them from a Socialist state to a dictatorship. They could not have the social control and Democracy at the same time. One or the other has to go. Democracy cannot survive in an environment of tight control. It wilts and dies. Free information and exchange of ideas is essential for a working Democracy. Tight social controls limit that. Tight social controls are necessary for a communism to work. For the collective to survive people have to be in line with it’s goals. For example to make sure all have shoes you have to control in depth how those shoes are made, the resources that go into those shoes and how they are distributed. Otherwise some people have nice shoes and others have none as happens in a non-Comunist society.

However to assure everybody has the same kind of shoes which is the goal of Communism, that enforced equality, you have to take resources away from other industries and force them into shoes. While this redistribution makes sure everybody has shoes things like choice in shoes suffer. Necessary regulations come about to make sure people do no defraud the system. People who enjoy activities which are not work related but hard on shoes much curtail their activities as there is only one source of shoes and either they go barefoot between shoes or refrain from that activity. This cascades through all of society. So even when there’s no official proclamation banning an activity the resource allocation effort will ban it.
